Educate Yourself
Following the uproar caused by George Floyd's death in May 2020, I worked diligently with my president and fellow vice president of digital communications to curate reading, movie, account, and podcast lists for our members to learn about Black history, how to become an anti-racist ally, what it means to be a Black person in America. This was an educational campaign that received a high amount of engagement with our members.
#PRSSAPRide Month

In June 2020, AKA, LGBT Pride Month, our National Committee created the #PRSSAPRide hashtag and sought out active members who are not only proud of their identity but who have also found a safe community in PRSSA.
#HHM

To educate, frame, and broaden the Hispanic and Latino perspective amongst the Society, we created the Hispanic Heritage Month campaign, which received a lot of love and engagement, both nationally and internationally. We included a historical background, societal differences, personal testimonies, a curated resource list, and the DEI aspect.
NDEAM

October marks National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and to increase disability awareness, I worked with my fellow vice president of digital communications and vice president of career development to share facts, resources, and actions that our members can take to increase accessibility and inclusivity.

Accessibility is becoming more and more important than ever, and PRSSA aims to continue to do what it can to help its members, disabled or not, strive for success.
National Native American Heritage Month

November kicks off National Native American Heritage Month. Knowing that Native American voices and history are not given as big of a platform, I worked with my vice president of digital communications to do in-depth research about Native American history and ways to be respectful, since Indian Country often does not receive respect or acknowledgment.

In conjunction with history, ways to be respectful, and proper terminology, I also co-ordinated an enlightening panel event with PRSA to honor this month.
